EDUC 3130 Practicum II

This semester long course provides candidates an opportunity to become familiar with the High School environment. Candidates will work in the 9th-12th classroom learning to plan, implement instruction, and design assignments under the guidance of their cooperating teacher. Candidates will also attend regularly scheduled seminars on topics related to their practicum. The use of technology is required. Practicum II requires that candidates engage in a minimum of 160 hours in a high school setting; while these hours are of upmost importance, the most critical component of this placement is the hands-on learning opportunity that occurs over the course of the semester. This course meets state and national standards.

Prerequisites: Formal admission into the Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education Program, Pass Checkpoint 1 and hold a valid Pre-Service Certificate
