EDUC 3120 Practicum I
This semester long course provides candidates an opportunity to become familiar with the Middle School environment. Candidates will work in the grade 6th-8th classroom setting, learning to plan, implement instruction, and design assignments under the guidance of their cooperating teacher. Candidates will also attend regularly scheduled seminars on topics related to their practicum. The use of technology is required. Practicum I requires that candidates engage in a minimum of 160 hours in a middle school setting; while these hours are of upmost importance, the most critical component of this placement is the hands-on learning opportunity that occurs over the course of the semester. This course meets state and national standards.
Co-requisites: EDUC 3100 and SPED 3110
Prerequisites: Formal admission into the Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education Program and hold a valid Pre-Service Certificate
