ESE 3331 Integrating Arts, Wellness, and Movement Across the Curriculum

This course will integrate the arts (art and music), movement, and wellness into academic learning across the curriculum. We will be exploring these areas as an interdisciplinary approach to teaching and learning. Students will get an overview of current theory and practice of an integrated arts, physical education/movement, and wellness curriculum for elementary classroom teaching. Subject matter will include teaching with, about, in, and through art, music, movement, and wellness. Students will explore child development, physical development, brain-based activities, play safety, movement and academic integration, parental and teacher resources, and how movement education can be effectively taught within to EC and elementary level children. Learning and planning will culminate in the planning and execution of a week-long day camp integrating art, music, movement, and wellness across the curriculum.
