ESE 3325 Teaching Social Studies in P-5

The primary goal of this course is for candidates to learn specific teaching strategies that are effective in supporting the creation of social studies curriculum and instruction. The underlying constructivist philosophy in this course promotes a learning environment of guided inquiry, self-directed learning, and collaborative learning. Candidates will demonstrate the use of cultural and digital new media to promote classroom engagement in K-5 Social Studies units. The use of technology and research is required.
