Maximum Timeframe
Federal student aid is available for up to 150% of the number of hours required to complete a program of study. Example: If an undergraduate program requires 120 hours, a student may attempt up to 180 hours before becoming ineligible for financial aid. All hours attempted at Middle Georgia State University, as well as hours transferred from previous institutions, count towards maximum timeframe regardless of whether financial aid was received. Students who change majors should do so early to prevent the loss of eligibility by reaching the maximum timeframe before earning a degree. Major changes are not considered mitigating circumstances for financial aid appeal purposes. Transfer students who have reached the maximum timeframe limit before their first term of enrollment at MGA are not eligible for title IV aid. These students can submit an appeal of financial aid suspension.
