Program Admission Requirements Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (MSOT)
In addition to meeting the General Admissions Requirements for Graduate Study the applicant must have or provide::
1. Complete and submit OTCAS Application
2. Minimum GPA of 3.0 or above (overall GPA and in prerequisite courses)
3. All prerequisite courses completed with a grade of C or higher
4. Minimum of 84 semester equivalent credits (includes courses from OTA degree and prerequisite courses) from an institution that is accredited by a USDE recognized accrediting agency; 43 of these hours may be OTA courses
5. Proof of a minimum of 1-year full-time experience working as a licensed COTA (or a minimum of 1,500 hours working as a fully licensed COTA)
6. Current résumé or curriculum vitae
7. Personal Statement as prompted by OTCAS
8. Three Letters of Recommendation as prompted by OTCAS (professional and/or academic)
9. Copy of current U.S. professional occupational therapy assistant license and NBCOT certification*
10. Background check
11. An interview may be required at the discretion of the Admissions Committee
*Licensure and certification indicate successful completion of the NBCOT Certification Exam for Occupational Therapy Assistants.
