NURS 3005 Pharmaconutrition (3-0-3)

This course builds on math and science knowledge to provide an understanding of drug dosage calculations and classifications of pharmacological agents. The nutritional needs of individuals and their impact on the health of an individual are included along with the interactions of medications and nutrients that can have a beneficial or hazardous effect on the health of an individual. Current information about the effect of over-the-counter medications, vitamins, herbal medications, and supplements will be addressed. 

Prerequisites: Admission to the Pre-Licensure BSN Program or to the RN-BSN Program
