Minor in Local Government Administration

Minor in Local Government Administration

This program is designed for students interested in pursuing careers in city and county government, particularly within the state of Georgia. The curriculum is designed to blend practical knowledge with appropriate theoretical frameworks for understanding the relationship between the state and its political subdivisions, as well as the public policy process and the day-to-day administration of government programs. Students with this minor will be prepared to succeed in entry-level and mid-level positions in municipal governments and related agencies; as such, this minor forms a good complement to a wide variety of majors, including business, criminal justice, health services administration, history, interdisciplinary studies, media and communication, political science, psychology, and social work.
