ITEC 6230 Digital Evidence and Cybercrime

Prerequisite: “B” in ITEC 6210

An introduction to the fundamental concepts behind the collection and analysis of digital evidence. Students will learn the processes and procedures required to conduct an investigation including; identification, preservation, collection, examination, analysis, and presentation of evidence for civil and criminal cases. Students will learn to provide written reports that meet the standards required for courtroom presentation. Discussion will include legal and ethical issues related to being a digital forensics examiner.
