EDUC 2120 Exploring Socio-Cultural Perspectives on Diversity in Educational Contexts

In response to the changing demographics of schools and communities, this course prepares students to understand how K-12 students’ backgrounds and experiences influence learning. Students examine the nature and function of culture, the development of individual and group identity, and the factors that impact student learning and development. Emphasis is placed on applying this understanding to instructional planning and decision-making to support the academic success of all students in a variety of educational settings.
