Air Traffic Control Tower Operator (CTO) Certificate Program

The Air Traffic Control Tower Operator (CTO) Certificate Program is designed to teach advanced principles of Air Traffic Control Tower Operations. This program will teach students all aspects of tower operations in order to prepare them for their certification through the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Upon successful completion, the student will be able to use their CTO Certification to apply to the different contract towers across the United States as well as outside the United States. Qualified students will then be able to apply to FAA Control Towers. Students may receive passing grades in all their courses while not receiving a recommendation from the ATC staff.

Admissions Requirements:

Primary:

Regular University admissions requirements

Class II FAA Medical for ATC

 

Secondary (which will determine preference of admissions if more than the maximum number apply):

Air Traffic Skills Assessment (ATSA) exam and score will be used to determine placement.

Successful completion of FAA approved Enhanced CTI – Tower program

ATCM 4207L must be taken twice for a total of 2 credit hours towards the total 33 required program hours.

ATCM 4204L, ATCM 4205L, and ATCM 4207L each have a $6,000 fee associated with taking the course.
