HUMN 1003 Perspectives on Humor, Romance, and War

This is an Institutional Priority course that develops key competencies in critical thinking and oral communication through an introduction to humor, romance, and war. This course includes additional online modules to support Institutional Priority Learning Outcomes and Career Competencies. The course offers an opportunity for students to apply critical thinking skills to various aspects of humor, romance, and war and to gain experience in developing and presenting original arguments in oral forms. This is an introduction to the relationships between the arts and culture. Through the study of various creative works of literature, print and visual media, theatre, and music, students will examine and respond to various creative cultural expressions that are prompted by war.
