HS 1000 Perspectives on Health Care Professions
This is an Institutional Priority course that develops key competencies in critical thinking and oral communication through an introduction to healthcare professions. This course includes additional online modules to support Institutional Priority Learning Outcomes and Career Competencies. The course offers an opportunity for students to apply critical thinking skills to issues of healthcare professionals and to gain experience in developing and presenting original arguments in oral forms. Students will utilize available technologies, research a related health care issue both on the Internet and in the library, prepare a paper using a word processor, and provide an oral presentation about the healthcare issue they research. Note: This class is a four credit hour class consisting of lectures, guest speakers, field trips, and/or group activities.
