The Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner certificate is designed for Advanced Practice Registered Nurses with certification in other specialty areas to receive the necessary education to sit for AGACNP certification. The certificate is offered fully online and consists of 3 courses.
Admissions Requirements
1. Master of Science in Nursing degree from an accredited nursing program
2. 1 year of Advanced Practice nursing experience
3. Unrestricted Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice License in Georgia
4. Official College Transcripts*
5. 3 Letters of Recommendation from professional or academic sources
6. Professional Résumé
7. Statement of Purpose**
8. Documentation of Lawful Presence, for Residents of Georgia
9. English Proficiency, for International Students

**Included with the application, applicants must submit a minimum 500-word written Statement of Purpose, which includes an overview of how the AGACNP program will enhance their knowledge, skills, and abilities in their future AGACNP position and how the specialty will impact healthcare outcomes and the provisions of healthcare. This Statement of Purpose should reflect scholarly writing in APA format to include a clear, concise flow of ideas and the use of citations.
Note: Evidence of writing competence will be evaluated through the candidate's prepared Statement of Purpose submitted with the application.
