OTMS 5310 Assistive Technology, Environmental Assessment, and Intervention
This course examines adaptations, equipment/assistive devices, and technologies, as well as environmental modifications for health and wellness of individuals and populations with and without disabilities. Consideration will be given to technologies useful for pediatric to geriatric populations in school, at home, and in the community. Students will explore the impact of the non-human environment on the occupational performance of individuals across the lifespan and gain knowledge and skills to provide assessment and intervention to enhance function. Students will also acquire knowledge and experience in application of evidence-based practice, coordination of resources, and in advocacy for clients who may benefit from technology and environmental modifications. Orthotics and splinting will also be covered.

Admission to the MSOT Bridge Program, the following course may only be taken once all courses in the previous semester have been successfully completed with a grade of "B" or better.
