Non-Traditional Freshman Student Admission
Non -traditional freshmen are defined as individuals who:
- have been out of high school at least five years and whose high school class graduated at least five years ago;
- hold a high school diploma from an accredited or approved high school or have satisfactorily completed the GED; and,
- have earned fewer than 30 transferable semester credit hours.
Criteria for admission:
1. Non-traditional freshmen must have a high school diploma or GED.
AND
2. Non-traditional freshmen who have posted SAT scores of at least 500 in both Verbal/Critical Reading and Mathematics or ACT scores of at least 21 on both English and Mathematics within the past seven (7) years.
OR
Non-traditional freshman who have not successfully completed college level English and college level mathematics courses, will be placed in learning support. Students may take the Accuplacer placement exam to exempt out of learning support.
Accuplacer exemption scores are as follows:
English: An Accuplacer Reading Comprehension score of 61 or higher AND Accuplacer WritePlacer score of 4 or higher.
Non-Stem Mathematics: An Accuplacer Elementary Algebra score of 67 or higher.
Stem Mathematics: An Accuplacer Elementary Algebra score of 79 or higher.
