Program Overview
The MATPW is a cross-disciplinary graduate program focused on the analysis, design, production, and management of documents and digital communication. It prepares students for professional roles such as writer, editor, researcher, web-content manager, multimedia composer, usability specialist, project manager, and related communication positions.

Program Mission and Learning Outcomes
The program emphasizes rhetoric, technical and professional writing, digital literacy, document design, editing, multimedia composition, usability, project management, web development, and publishing for roles such as technical writer, grant writer, social media manager, web content editor, instructional designer, editor, and digital copywriter.

Admission Requirements
Applicants should meet the general admissions requirements for graduate study and these program-specific requirements: (i) Undergraduate GPA of 2.75 or better; or successful completion of Middle Georgia State University’s Graduate Certificate in Technical Writing and Digital Communication. (ii) Letter of application stating the applicant’s interest in and goals for the program. (iii) Professional resume.

Program Format
The program is a 30-credit-hour, fully online, interdisciplinary curriculum taught in 8-week sessions. Students complete required core courses and two approved electives. The program is stackable with the Graduate Certificate in Technical Writing and Digital Communication.
